Sunday Fun

We decided to try going to church as a family of four today. Overall, it went well. We were less than five minutes late for our 9:00 meeting. Kennadie slept through the whole meeting and Jax didn't have an accident or a meltdown. (At least not during the meeting.) Afterwards when people wanted to see Kennadie and when we left without playing with toys, in nursery, he was pretty upset. Kennadie in her cute church clothes. We sometimes call her our zombie baby because she often sleeps like this, with her arms up.
After a good nap Keith took Jaxson to a birthday party for the daughter of a friend that Keith goes to school with. It was great for Jax to get out of the house and have a chance to play. He loved the pinata, especially when he realized that candy came out of it.

He came home with a goody bag, sunglasses, and a balloon. He was one happy kid.

Keith said after they got in the car to come home Jax in his sweetest voice said "thank you daddy." What a sweet boy we have!

Thank You!

It was sad to have my mom go. We had too much fun taking care of my two kiddos, working on different crafts and projects, staying up late and talking, lots of talking. She also did a great job taking care of us when we needed the help. She cooked us lots of great food, cleaned, entertained Jax and helped us get through a couple long nights. Thanks mom, we love you! Obviously Jax was being a little poop when we were trying to take this picture. He's not too fond of pictures or Kennadie right now. (gotta love a two year old!) I love the look on Kennadie's face, like what is wrong with this kid.

Our First Outing

The last day that my mom was here (tuesday) we decided to be brave and go out. We had had a rough couple of days and all of us, but especially Jaxson, needed to get out. Our rough couple of days consisted of all of us getting sick the previous Thursday. It hit us all at once. I had mastitis and could hardly get out of bed for two days and Jax had a flu bug with a fever, nasty cold and it turned him into one grumpy kid. The night that Jax and I were the worst Kennadie was consitpated and had a hard time sleeping and eating. Plus my mom and Keith both had bad colds. Keith was trying to prepare for tests so when he was home he took cold medicine to knock himself out. So, my mom and I took turns taking the kids. Thank goodness she was here. I don't know if we would have survived otherwise! So after a couple days of medicine and rest we decided to do one fun thing before she left. (I also wanted to see how I was going to be able to go out in public with two kids.) We went to the Rainforest, which is a indoor portion of our zoo. Jax rode in the stroller while I carried Kennadie in a sling my friend let me borrow. It went much better than I thought it might.
This kid cracks me up! In this picture he's scratching his back on the rock. Why would he do this? Because Baloo the bear in Jungle Book does, that's why.

We got to touch this armadillo and learn all about him, which was really cool.

Jax with grandma. She put up with a lot of craziness from this boy over the two weeks.

Kennadie slept through the whole adventure, which made it easy. Maybe I will be able to handle this two kid thing.

Newborn Pictures

While my mom was here we spent almost a full day taking pictures of this cute girl. We had tons of fun and it was so much easier than taking pictures of a two year old. (Who has decided to throw a fit lately during pictures.) Here are a few of my favorites. I still need to do some editing on most of them and then try to pick a few to go on the announcement.

I hope it doesn't look too vain, posting so many pics of my own child but I can't help but think she's the cutest thing ever! I can't get over how chubby she seems to be for a newborn, but I love it!

1 Week Old!

Kennadie's first week of life went by very quickly for us, and she slept through most of it. It's been so much fun having her here and we love her to pieces! Here's a few of my favorite pictures of her taken during the week. I forgot how much newborns can sleep and sleep through anything. This has been a good thing since her brother can be really loud.
But when she is awake she is very alert and loves to look around.

With her grandma Shinney. We are sooo grateful to have her help and good company for a couple of weeks!

Look at those chubby cheeks!

I thought I would copy my sister in law. Every month she posts a picture of my nephew in the same place next to the same stuffed animal and it's been fun to watch how much he's grown from month to month. So, even though she's a week old, here's Kennadie's newborn picture and stats.
She is 7lbs 12oz and 19.5 inches long (we're going with what she was measured at the doctors office instead of the hospital.)

Coming Home!

Kennadie had to stay in the hospital for the full 48 hours, but as soon as the time was up, we were out of there. We were anxious to see Jaxson, because he couldn't come to the hospital to meet Kennadie. He was very excited for us to come home and wanted to see her. He kept saying 'baby Kennadie' over and over. Our first family picture. Even Paisley wanted in the picture.
When we asked Jax if he wanted to hold her and he quickly said no, but he was willing to give her some gentle kisses.

He was very happy to find out that Kennadie had brought a present for him. He loves his new Elmo.

After dinner he was ready to hold her, with Elmo of course. He liked pointing out her eyes, nose, and counting her fingers.

Saying cheese for the camera. What a silly boy! He's going to be a great big brother!

Kennadie Lynn

Here's a few of our favorite pictures of our little girl taken during our stay at the hospital. I don't care if it's caused by gas, I love her smile!

Like I said before I love her hair!
And her chubby cheeks!
And her funny facial expressions!
Basically we love everything about this special girl, even her girlie cry!
She did great while we were there. She passed all her tests and is very healthy. She nursed great and slept well. Hopefully this continues now that we're home! I am also feeling good. So much better than I did with Jaxson. We love being a family of four!

Our Little Speed Demon is Here!

Kennadie Lynn decided to join our family on Tuesday Jan. 12th at 4:46 pm. She weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz which is exactly what Jaxson weighed as well. She was measured to be 18 1/2 inches long, almost 2 inches shorter than Jax. This little girl might look very sweet and innocent but looks can be deceiving. She was in quite the hurry to get here and made her mother suffer more than she would have liked in the process. Here's the story; I started having contractions around 10:30 that morning but didn't think too much of it. I've been having contractions for weeks and the day before they had been regular for a while but then they went away. I continued on with my day cooking, cleaning, taking care of Jax and even playing a little catch up on my blog. A little after 12:00 I called Keith and told him I think this might be for real and wanted him to come home. Around 1:00 Keith got home and took care of Jax while I showered, got ready and rested. A little after 2:00 I decided this was probably the real thing and called my doctor to which they advised I head to the hospital. We finished packing, woke Jax from his nap and headed out the door. We got to the right floor at the hospital at 4:00 and they slowly started to get me admitted. By this time I was in quite a bit of pain and was very much wanting an epidural. I was so surprised when they first checked me and told me I was barely at a 3. They told me that because my contractions were coming every 2 minutes they would keep me there. Which was a good thing because I was NOT going anywhere! So they had me walk to the next room to get into a wheelchair so they could take me to a labor and delivery room. I got into that room at 4:39 pm, according to the nurse, she checked me again and told me I was at a 4 and could soon get the epidural. Little Kennadie had other plans because 7 minutes and 4 pushes later she was here! The in house doctor, not the doctor who was supposed to deliver, barely got his gloves on in time to catch her. We won't even talk about all the pain, tears, screams, or Keith's battle wounds that took place in those 7 minutes. We'll just leave it as it was the most intense and painful 7 minutes of my life! But it was all worth it because look at her! She's beautiful and we couldn't be happier with our little girl!
This was taken a little over an hour after delievery when we were getting ready to go to our recovery room.
A proud daddy!

And one very cute and chubby girl! I love those chubby cheeks!

And this is why you don't want a baby to come so fast. This was taken a couple hours after delivery. She is all brusied and swollen from her quick arrival. And this isn't even the worst picture. On the upside check out that hair! More than anything I wanted her to have hair and I'm so glad she did! I just hope she doesn't lose it. We can't get over how much we already love this cutie!

Disney On Ice!

Some friends of ours scored some sweet free tickets to the Disney on Ice show that came to town and they invited us to go with them. My cute boys before the show started. Jax had no clue what was really going on but we kept telling him he was going to see Mickey Mouse, Buzz and Woody so he couldn't hold still.
He loved the show! Anytime he could see a character he knew he would shout their name and get so excited.
Good thing Mickey was out there most of the time because he really doesn't know that many disney characters.
Probably my favorite disney classic is Aladdin. Here's Jasmine and Aladdin showing off their mad skills.
Keith's favorite Disney princess is Ariel, so I had to take a picture for of her for him. I think he was a little disappointed she wasn't in her swimming attire.

Jax loved the dragon, even though he called it a dinosaur, from the Mulan scene.

But his favorite part was when these three came out. Our Toy Story loving boy was in heaven and so excited!

The best part was watching him get into the Toy Story scene. They had the whole crowd yelling and cheering and Jax was right there with them. It was a very fun night!
