Thanksgiving

I can't believe Thanksgiving was almost a week ago!  Time is flying by at our house!

A few weeks before Thanksgiving we had a FHE lesson on gratitude.  We helped the kiddos think of their blessing and wrote them on leaves for our thankful tree.
On Thanksgiving morning Keith went to play football with some friends and this is how he left the house.  I told him if he left like that I was going to take pictures and put them on the blog.
Obviously that threat had no bearing because he willingly posed for me and just laughed when I said I was going to put in on the blog.
While at our yummy feast Jaxson hung out with Brady.  Don't ya love the face?
Kenna and Daddy enjoying some pie!
Posted by PicasaThe best little family pic we could get that day.  We had an awesome Thanksgiving with our amazing friends here.  We are extremely grateful for all the friends we've made here who have become our second family.  We are truly blessed and love this time of year that reminds us to think about all that we have!

Randomness

I meant to post this forever ago but they are some of the little things I don't want to forget!
Kenna loves to wear my shoes.

We love to have pudding for FHE treats.
The kiddos love having story time before bed.

Kenna also likes to dress herself.
Jax and his preschool buddies.
When we do hair cuts we let Jax help.  Isn't Keith brave?!
Keith is learning how to do Kenna's hair, it's a work in progress.

Raking Leaves

Here in Ohio the days are getting shorter and the nights colder.  We haven't really had any snow yet but we know it's on it's way.  This week we decided it was time to get the yard ready for winter so, out we went.
The kiddos had fun bundling up and helping us out.
I can't really say they were that much help.
Kennadie only lasted outside for about 15 min.
Posted by PicasaJax stayed out much longer and had lot of fun playing in the leaves.

Future Firefighter?

Last week for Jaxson's preschool we headed over to the fire department for a little field trip.  It was a great adventure.

Anyone who knows Jax, knows he's not a shy kid.  He was more than willing to demonstrate the Stop, Drop, and Roll, and was constantly asking questions or talking.  Yeah, he's pretty much that annoying kid who is never quiet.  Good thing I'm his mother and it doesn't bother me too much.

Luke, Jaxson and Braden are our main little preschoolers.  We love these boys and their families!  They thought they were pretty cool, sitting in the ambulance.

The sun was right in their eyes, and so I didn't get a good group shot.

I do love seeing Jax be the big protective brother.  He rarely shows this side and usually only in public.

He took the dressing up like a firefighter very seriously.

Posted by PicasaThey were so good with the kids and everyone had a great time.  Since our little field trip we've been playing firefighters a lot around here.  Jax has me pretend to call the fire station and then he comes to rescue me, my baby and always my cat named Cleo.  He also tells people that he's going to be a firefighter when he gets big.  Such a funny boy but man we love him!

Walk in the Park

We've had some beautiful weather lately! Today it was sunny and in the 70's.  That's kinda abnormal for Cleveland.  Over the weekend it wasn't as warm but still sunny so we decided to spend Saturday afternoon walking through the nearby metropark.  How we LOVE the metroparks!

We brought Jaxson's new bike along for some extra practice and he did so good.

The leaves are a little past their peak but they are still gorgeous!
We love the fall here!
While on our walk we saw some wildlife.  Keith is pointing out a deer to Jax in this pic, it's under the tree on the upper right hand side.
It's amazing how the deer that live here aren't very afraid of people.
Jax looking at the deer as he rode by.

Of course Kennadie wasn't content with staying in the stroller the whole time, so her daddy carried her for a while.
We ventured off the beaten path a couple of times to explore a little more.
Another face this silly Kenna often makes.
I loved this leaf!
When we stopped once we had to wade through the leaves because they were so thick.
Then we ended on the playground, where Kenna decided it was her turn to wear Jax's helmet and glasses.

Posted by PicasaIt was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.  We don't get the opportunity to do it often enough.  This day was a gift and exactly what our family needed.

4 yr pics

Almost a month after his birthday we finally went out to take Jaxson's 4 yr pics.  This is an improvement from last year, because those didn't really happen until 6 months after his birthday.  He's FINALLY getting better about taking pics.  He's far from being good, but he is improving.
Of course we were met with the usual resistance at first, but after bribing him with marshmallows things got a little better.
He was still goofy and bouncing off the walls half the time but at least he was smiling.
Sometimes he was smiling a little too much.
I love the thoughtful look I caught in this one.  Cracks me up!
These last few are my favorites.

Posted by PicasaI always like to hear back from people what their favorites are.  We sure love this silly boy!  He makes us laugh every single day, and we wouldn't have him any other way!
