Summer Time!
We love summer and the warm weather that comes with it. As a kid one of my favorite things about summer was playing in the water and so that's what we've been doing a lot of around here lately.
Jax loves to play in his little blow up pool and with the hose.
He loves it even more when Daddy joins him! This is how Keith decided to cool down after a afternoon run.
Even when we're not in the water we do a lot of playing outside. Jaxson is really into bugs right now and loves catching them so he can put them in his bug jar. He's always on the look out for bugs which is annoying when we're trying to do something else and he has to stop and look at every little ant.
Kennadie is also enjoying the beautiful weather and also loves being outside.
And when it's too hot or when Kenna is sleeping we have to find fun things to do inside. One of Jaxson's favorites right now is painting.
We've also been to the swimming pool a couple times already. Our friends have passes to an awesome pool and have invited us to join them. We love it! I could spend my whole summer at the pool.

Tub Time!
Just the other day while in the tub Kennadie found her toes! It was pretty much the first time she had ever played with them and of course she put them right into her mouth.
Yummy! She now has them in her mouth often.
I'm learning little tricks to make my life easier with two kids, and one of them is bathing them together. They both LOVE this. Jaxson is really good about helping me wash her and share his bath toys and Kenna is constantly giggling at him.

Happy Birthday Keith!
While Ashli was here we celebrated Keith's birthday. He had a mock board exam that day, lucky guy, so that evening we went out for dinner. Which was interesting. . .
Jaxson hadn't really gotten a nap because we had been doing fun stuff with Ashli and then fell asleep on the way to the restaurant so he was quite the charmer. The food was good though.

Ashli!
My best friend, Ashli, flew out to spend a few days with us and we had a blast! Oh how I wish we lived closer to each other! Maybe some day. But while we were together we had tons of fun and packed a lot into those 4 days.
We went downtown to the Science Center and to see some other fun sites.
She was so sweet about doing all kid friendly activities, which was good because with Keith studying for boards leaving the kiddos would have been hard. So we hit the zoo, one of Jax's favortie places.
Nice pic of Jaxson huh? But he was super excited to feed the seals a fish.
One day we packed up the kids and headed off to Pittsburgh, which is about 2 hours from us. We went to this amazing children's museum. Jaxson loved it! This is in the Mr. Rogers area, which was filmed in Pittsburgh. They had lots of stuff from the actual show which was kind of cool for Ashli and I, since we used to watch the show as kids.
Jaxson loved being an artist in the art gallery.
And exploring all the other fun activities.
The giant Lite Brite. I think Ashli and I thought this was cooler than Jax.
Little miss Kenna also enjoyed the Children's museum, which had stuff for even little ones like her.
They had a whole floor dedicated to water play and exploration. They even had these cute rain coats for all the kids. I don't think I got one picture of Jaxson looking at the camera during the whole trip because he was way too busy playing to even look up.
After the museum we went to an Aviary and got to see birds from all over the world. They did a few fun bird shows where we got to see the birds up close and do tricks.
This bird was very tame and let Jaxson get really close. Jaxson even got to feed it which was super fun for him.
Showing off his penguin moves.
We LOVED having her here. We stayed up late every night just talking, laughing and eating (which because of this we decided it might we a good thing we don't live closer) It reminded me of the fun times we had when we were roommates in college (minus the two little ones). Thanks for coming Ashli, we miss you!

Oh Jaxson Boy!
How we love our Jaxson boy. This kid has a TON of energy and always keeps us busy. We also think he's one of the funniest kids ever. I don't think there's ever a day that goes by that he doesn't make us laugh.
On this day I was cooking this pasta and when I turned around to look at the box again, the box was gone. I heard Jax in his room and this is how I found the little thief. Jumping on his bed with the box completely over his head. I thought he was using it as a helmet but after watching for a minute I realized he was pretending to be Andy from Toy Story 1 when he jumps on his bed with a box he used to make him a Space Ranger. In this picture he's asking me to make him wings with a part he ripped off.
He played with this box for almost an hour. Funny kid! And yes it is a little embrassing how well he knows the Toy Story movies.
Lately Jaxson has been wanting to act like different animals. This night he was a dog. He had us put socks on his ears (a trick he learned from grandpa) and ran around on all fours with the other dogs. This dog is Einstein, our friends dog that we are watching for the month while they are gone on an externship. We like him and Jax has loved having another dog around but we're not quite sure how he got his name, if you know what I mean!!!

Happy Father's Day!
We love our daddy! I am so very thankful for Keith and the good man that he is. He works so hard to be the best that he can be. I'm grateful that he is a worthy preisthood holder who does his best to respect this authority. He is an amazing father and his kids adore him. Jax is always so excited for him to come home and to play with him. Kenna also loves him and as soon as she hears his voice has to look around to find him and when she does her face lights up. I'm so thankful that he is so patient, playful and involved with our kids.
We tried to give him a good father's day and celebrated with some of his favorite treats; steak, cheesecake and a brazilian drink Guarana.

5 months
I know I'm super behind in my blogging. So much has happened lately! Well, here she is 5 months old (plus a week). She's getting so big. I love watching her grow and change but at the same time I feel like it's happening too fast. (long sigh)
This little girl is getting to be quite the busy body. She loves to reach, grab and play with toys. She wants whatever we have and of course puts everything in her mouth. She can completely roll over and as you can see is getting good at sitting on her own. And her favorite thing to do is watch Jaxson, he can always make her smile. In fact she's so busy that she's decided that long naps just won't do and is now power napping some days. I'm not a fan and hoping she out grows this soon. She does sleep good at night though. She usually goes from about 7 pm until 5 am, at which she eats and then goes back to sleep for a few hours. We think she weighs about 15 lbs and is getting chunkier everyday. The sadest part is that she's losing all her hair. It makes me want to cry, but I do get excited to think about it growing back in. I think it will come in blonde but others are saying they see red in it. We'll see.
More excitment for Kennadie is that she has recently started solid foods. The picture below was suppose to be here and is of her first time trying the cereal. She seemed to like it at first but then decided she wasn't a fan. She now LOVES meal time and gets very excited. She's also super messy because she's constantly putting her hands in her mouth and drooling all over the place. As you can see, prunes are her favorite right now.

Family Pictures
While my parents were here we did a little family photo shoot. It was fun but hard because we now have two little ones to try to get to smile and look at the camera at the same time. And it doesn't help that I am famous for closing my eyes in pictures. Anyway, we did get a few good shots, so here are a few of them.
