Kalahari

While my parents were in town we went down to Kalahari in Sandusky Ohio. It's a huge indoor water park and hotel that we've been wanting to go to the whole time we've lived in the area.

My kids love the water and we had a blast!  Keilie loved the swings in the little kids area.

Kenna also loved the kiddie pool that was just perfect for kids her age.
She also loved posing for some pictures for me and I love her for that!

Jaxson was old/tall enough to go on a lot of the water slides, which was awesome.  We were actually surprised that he was willing to go on every slide that he was tall enough for and had fun on all of them. His favorite were the cheetah races. Here he is on the water roller coaster
The kids also spent a lot of time in the wave pool and it was probably Kennadie's favorite spot.

We spent most of our two days at Kalahari in the water but we did do some other exploring.  They had a fun tree house play area that the kids loved and a baby play area that Keilie enjoyed.
There was also a big arcade and game area that we won some free tokens too.
And we did some exploring in this massive hotel that was decorated in an amazing African theme.  It was a fun getaway vacation for our family and my kids ask often if we can go back.  We were so thankful that my parents were able to join us as well.  They make everything more fun and with three little kids they were also a huge help. They even put the kids to bed for us our night there so Keith and I could go play at the water park for a few hours without worrying about the kids.  We LOVED Kalahari!

February Low-Down

The first few weeks of February were a little rough for our family.  One of the main reasons was that Keith had two bad weeks of call. We've never had an easy call week but some are worse than others.  Both of these were bad.

When call weeks are bad this is what daddy time looks like, that is if Keith sees the kids awake at all.  Keith really is asleep in this picture. (Obviously they need a little attention from their mother, since they look a little ragged!)
2nd reason for why the month was rough was the weather!  We've gotten so much snow this year!  Not only tons of snow but frigid temperatures to go with it. You might think I'm just complaining but it really has been the worst winter ever recorded here in Michigan and Jaxson hasn't had a full week of school since Christmas because of all the snow days.

Most of the time it's been too cold to enjoy the snow.  The snow usually doesn't pack well for a snowman and since sledding hills are hard to find around here, we had to tromp around the big snow drifts and dig tunnels.
Jaxson loved trying to make a snow cave.
When it wasn't too cold, such as if it wasn't in the negatives, Jaxson liked playing outside.
Kennadie on the other hand never lasted very long outside and spent most of the month indoors.  She's become her mother's daughter and loves to arrange and play with her stuffed animals.  I'm amazed how long she'll play with them.
We also still play a lot of pirates around here.  Kenna set up this boat by herself.

I love being with these two all day!

Valentine's Day!

We had fun getting ready for Valentine's Day this year.  It's pretty much what got us through the first few weeks of the month.

I wouldn't exactly say that taking these pics was fun but making this card and sending it out to grandparents was enjoyable.

We also had fun making homemade Valentine's cards, and our traditional treats of heart sugar cookies and oreo truffles.
On Valentine's Day I wasn't able to pull off our heart pancakes and pink milk for breakfast and get us out the door on time so we decided to do it for dinner instead.
Can't go wrong with heart shaped pancakes!
They got a few treats and little toys in their buckets.  Kiss anyone?!
Keilie loved banging her bucket around on her highchair.

V-day photo shoot

I saw this idea on pinterest, of covering a baby in red kisses, but whenever I tried to kiss this sweet girl she kept moving to try to see my lips, which smeared the lipstick all over.  (She's never seen my lips so red!)

I decided I didn't like all the kiss marks and tried a wipe most of them off.  Anyway, here's a few of the pics we got during this little photo shoot.

Of course, we got a lot of crazy ones!

This is how much of the photo shoot went, with Keilie crawling away, Jaxson being silly and Kenna touching something or looking away.  Photo shoots are always a little frustrating but once I look back at the pictures I'm always thankful that I did it.

It's always worth it once you have cute pictures like this one.  Can this girl be any cuter?

9 Months!

Unfortunately this girl just keeps growing and growing!

She's getting to be quite a busy body and army crawls or rolls to where ever she wants.

She's still a mama's girl, a great sleeper at night and usually happy.
She loves her exersaucer and her toys.
She's starting to explore and get into everything.  Her favorites are to climb into the book basket, crawl on Paisley's bed and to get into the magazines.

She also gets tons of attention from her big sister everyday.  Kennadie can't get enough of this girl and Keilie sometimes loves the attention but often just puts up with it.
I sure love spending my days with these two cute girls who love each other so much.
This family can't get enough of this sweet valentine! We love her to pieces!
