Imagination

Every Monday Jaxson is lucky enough to have one of his good friends come over for most of day while her mom goes to school.  Jax loves playing with her and last week he started calling her his sweetheart, it was pretty cute. If you look close in the pic below you can even see that he likes to slip his arm around her occasionally.
These two are crazy sometimes and have quite the wild imaginations.  This day they were playing Mr. & Mrs. Claus.  Jaxson would say 'I Santa Claus, (then pointing to his friend) you Mrs. Claus.' then they would both give a hearty 'Ho ho ho'.  Kennadie must of represented every good boy and girl because the Claus's continued to find every baby toy in the house and would give it to her saying 'Merry Christmas Baby!'  I was listening to most of this from the other room and when I came in to see for myself this is how I found Kenna.
I laughed out loud, but she didn't seem to mind and laughed every time they put another toy on her pile.
Then today I came down to check on them when I heard some cute barking coming from the play room, to find them like this.
And here's a few things Kennadie's been up too.  She still loves the dishwasher and has learned how to quickly get herself in it.
Now that we often do pig tails we get crazy hair.  I just had to take of pic of it this day.
And this picture shows a few of Kennadie's favorite things right now.  Her number one would be climbing, and it's amazing what she can get onto now.  Next she LOVES her tooth brush and does her crawl to you as fast as she can while doing an excited pant thing as soon as you pull it out.  And a new love is putting things on her head.  Another love is getting into the garbage but you'll never see a picture of that.  She knows where every garbage can is in the house and is always trying to get into them, it's digusting!

Our Jaxson Boy

Keith informed me that lately our blog makes it seem like we have a favorite child.   Therefore, here are a couple of updates on our Jaxson boy, who makes us smile every single day.

Yep, he's still into robots and every once in a while he'll be able to convince me to make one out of the stuff in our recycling box.  After we finish he always wants to take a picture.
The day after we made this one he decided to make himself a robot and ran around like this most of the day.
He's also very into fixing things and helping daddy with all his new tools.  As you can see daddy takes these jobs very seriously!
And of course he looks super cute doing it!
He has also become a very good little helper.  He loves to help me cook.  This day he had to wear his 'cooking gloves' the whole time.
We've been doing a little chore chart with Jaxson for the past couple of months.  He has a few jobs to do everyday and when he does them gets a Toy Story sticker for each job he completes.  Every once in a while, he'll do all of his jobs for the week and get his chart full.  So, far this is working great.
He, for the most part, loves it and is very proud of his stickers.
It's no secret that Jax LOVES Toy Story and ever since we got Toy Story 3 he's been putting his potato head pieces into just about anything he can.  He asks for a tortilla almost everyday.  This comes from the movie for those of you who are confused.  As you can see here, he put them into this partly nawed on apple.
Jaxson loves doing art projects whenever I take the time to do them with him.  Only problem is that I have to be right there with him the whole time or I end up with a whole bottle of glue wasted.
The most important thing is that Jaxson is becoming a great big brother.  He loves to make Kenna laugh and makes sure she's well taken care of.  He's becoming quite the little sweetheart, at least most of the time.

Snow Fun!

First, thank you everyone for you comments and compliments for the past post.  It's always nice to get a second opionion especially when you're like me and very indecisive.  Thank you everyone!

Now on to one of those everyday life memories.
We had a couple days of hard snow not too long ago.  One day Jax was bugging me all day to go outside and play in it.  Finally, when Kenna went down for her afternoon nap we braved the snow and cold.  Jaxson was in heaven!  He made snow angels and just rolled around in the winter wonderland laughing his head off.  It was so fun to watch!
He was even more excited when I let him suck on one of the icicles he'd been seeing out our window everyday.  Yeah, it might be a little gross but it's part of childhood.
And then when I started to work on the driveway, he decided he just had to drive his car.  I tried to explain that it wouldn't work very well but he insisted.
And it wasn't too long until he crashed.
And the poor kid couldn't get out by himself and what does his mother do?  Does she run over to rescue him?  Nope, she laughs and makes sure to take a picture first and then helps him out.  Soon after this we headed inside to enjoy one of the best things about winter, HOT CHOCOLATE!

One Year Pictures; Opinions Needed!

A few days ago I took Kennadie's 1 year pics.  It was quite the ordeal and at first I was super frustrated because the girl would not cooperate.  But after a snack and some silly time with daddy she cheered up and was ready.  They didn't quite turn out how I expected but I'm still happy with them.  Mainly because I think she's the cutest little girl ever!  First I must give a huge thank you to my friend, Debbie, who let me borrow the outfit.  THANK YOU!  Now, I need your opinions on which ones should go on the wall.  I need four for the project I'm doing.  Tell me what number is your favorite!  (also any great tips on photography or editing would be greatly appreciated, I have sooo much to learn!)

We finally got this girl to eat some cake.  She still didn't want too much to do with it but she made her mommy happy and took a few bites. (I know I'm crazy pushing cake on a one year old, but I really wanted a picture of her with cake all over her face; which I still didn't get.)

Birthday Fun!

Kennadie was one lucky girl because she got to celebrate her first birthday twice.
We quickly threw together a little celebration for her the night before her grandpa & grandma Nebeker left so they could see her dig into cake and they gave her those cute animals cars that she loves.
Only thing was that she really didn't want to eat the cake.  This made me wonder if she had been switched at birth because I can't imgaine a child of mine not wanting cake.  She loved making a mess with it, of course, and then after we tried to get her to eat it she would tease us by putting the cake close to her mouth, like in the picture, but then she would just laugh and throw the cake in the opposite direction.  It was pretty entertaining.
Closer to her real birthday we had a few friends over to help us celebrate.  This funny face reminded me of Jaxson. She loved her balloons.

And of course we had to take a few pictures.
Here's a close up of the cake.  It was really fun to make but took longer than I had expected.  (if you can't tell it's supposed to be a caterpillar)
When we sang to her she couldn't wait to get her hands on it and had to be held back.
But when it was time to dig in, she once again didn't really want cake.  She had more fun waving and clapping at everyone who was watching her.  She's becoming a little show off.
We finally got her to taste it.
As soon as Jax sat down she decided she wanted his cake instead.  Notice the huge piece of cake on Jaxson's fork, yeah he shoved that in his mouth in order to protect it from Kenna and then almost choked on it, crazy kid.
My brother and his family sent her this super fun ball pit/tent thing, that she and Jaxson LOVE! They both were so excited when we opened it and have played with it tons. Thanks guys!
My best friend made her this super cute dolly bag with a baby blanket and pillow.  Which is great because she got two new dolls to use with it.  We're so thankful for all the amazing people who love and spoil our kids!
Have I ever mentioned that we love this girl?! I still can't believe she's growing up on me so fast! She does have her moments when she drives me crazy but for the most part she's a little sweetheart and we can't get enough of her.  We love you Kennadie!

Happy Birthday Kennadie!

How did this happen?! How did time slip away from me so quickly?  I can't believe that one year ago today our sweet little Kennadie came into our family.  She came with a mind of her own, deciding to come early and fast.  If you want more details of that adventure you can read here.  Here's a little look at her first year of life!
This picture was taken of her at the hospital within her first 24 hours of life.  It will always be one of my favorites.
We took this cutie home and really for the rest of January she slept.  She was such a good baby.
In fact she slept through a lot of her first four months of life.  It was a rare occurrence to see her this awake in February.
On March 7th she was blessed by her daddy with her Grandma Nebeker here to see her for the first time.  It was a special day and she looked beautiful in her little dress.
I feel like it was April when this girl finally woke up, really started moving around more and started showing us some of her fun personality.
In May we fell head over heels for her all over again because she was so quick to smile and laugh.  She was easy going and still such a great sleeper.
June; seriously we couldn't have asked for a cuter, more loving and sweet baby!  I love those eyes and the little crooked little smile.
In July we started to see more on her independent spirit! She was always bound and determined to feed herself and have things done her way.
In August the kids and I went home and did a bunch of traveling.  She handled it like a pro and won everyone over.
In September this girl really took off with crawling like crazy, walking along things and getting into everything.  She is a busy body!
In October she was the cutest cowardly lion I've ever seen.
Come November she was still super active and happy but also started showing us more of her wild side.
It was a lot of fun and a lot of work to have an almost one year old cruising around during the holidays.  (I accidentally put the wrong pic in here but I'm too lazy to fix it.)
And here she is on her first birthday! I can't believe how quickly the months have gone by.  Kennadie is one happy little girl who loves her family, to eat (espeically green beans), to make messes, stuffed animals to hug, to climb, music, and whatever toy Jaxson has at the moment.  She doesn't like being stopped from making messes, being put down, diaper changes or getting dressed. She can say a few words, (her favorite being dada), she can sign a few signs (her favorite being 'all done'), she can take a few steps by herself but she doesn't like this, and still only has two little teeth showing.  She's been completely average in everything at every doctors appointment so we're expecting the same at her one year check up next week.  All in all we couldn't be happier with this sweet girl! She makes everyday better and more enjoyable for us and we love her!
