Rolling Ridge Ranch

The first day they were here we headed south to Amish country. We enjoyed the beautiful drive (well at least those who didn't sleep through it; Mom.) Then we went to a little musuem, walked through some of the shops, ate a yummy lunch and did our favorite; the ranch. At the ranch we took a wagon ride through the farm and got to see, feed and touch tons of exotic animals. Needless to say Jaxson LOVED it! While waiting for our ride Jaxson got to hold a baby duck. He was so sweet and gentle with it (as gentle as a two year old can be.)
On the wagon, Jaxson excitedly shouted out names and sounds of the animals he knew. He really liked the camel. We got to pet a baby camel in the petting zoo later and it was much cuter than this one.
It was fun feeding the animals. These ostriches were not shy at all.

Neither was this gamma bull. Check out that tongue! I love the look on Jaxson's face as he tells the bull to say 'ahhh'.

Lovely llamas. I guess Keith wasn't tempted to kiss one this year. (That's a good thing for me).
Jaxson even got to help drive the team for a while, which he also thought was pretty cool.

Afterwards we went to the little petting zoo, where Jaxson made friends with this cute lamb

and this little goat. Maybe he will follow in his grandpa's footsteps and love goats so much that he'll spend half of his life working with them.

I thought it was cool that the peacocks just walked around strutting their stuff. Jaxson would say 'look boo-ti-fer eecock." (aka 'look beautiful peacock')

Kennadie slept through most of this adventure and stayed covered up. Some of the animals came over to check her out.
