Carving Pumpkins!

Finally on Halloween we were able to carve our pumpkins. Jaxson wasn't so sure about cutting his pumpkins at first but once we taught him how to say 'pumpkins guts' he started to have more fun. Getting the guts out.
Helping daddy.

My cheesy boys!
The finished products. Jax calls one his happy face pumpkin and the other his scary pumpkin.

2 year pictures

I wanted to get some cute pictures of Jaxson around his birthday but something always came up and either Keith couldn't come or the weather wouldn't cooperate. Finally a few weeks after his b-day we had a nice day and even though it was during test week I decided to go try to get some good pictures by myself. It was quite the learning experience. During our little photo shoot we encountered a few problems and falls.
First I was trying to take pictures of a very active 2 year old without help. I've got tons of pictures of him on the move!

The when I would finally get him looking at the camera, he decided to be shy or grumpy, take your pick.
But even through the frustration (only felt by me) we did have a ton of fun playing in the leaves.

Jax had a blast running around, finding sticks, and playing in all the beautiful leaves.

Jumping in!

Finding hidden treasures, I placed trying to get the kid to hold still.
And after more than 200 pictures, this is the best I got. I'm still hoping to get out and take some more, with some help, but if it doesn't happen I could live with this on my wall. What a cute boy we have!

Caramel Apples!

Fall is in full swing here and it is beautiful! This is what we see almost everywhere we go. To celebrate fall we decided to make caramel apples for a FHE treat.
Jax's first bite of a caramel apple. Yeah, we're kind of crazy to give a two year old caramel before bedtime.
It was fun watching him with this new experience. Of course he loved it!

Digging in with dad.
I was actually surprised how much of the apple he ate. He ate all of the caramel first but then started in on the apple. Now everytime he sees an apple he asks for carmel apples.

Jaxson's B-day Part 2; A Little Party

I'm not ready to start real birthday parties so we just had a little celebration at home. Our friends needed a babysitter for the night so we had four extra kids join our little party. Jax loves these kids and was so excited to have them over and it made our party more fun. It also made Keith and I excited for a bigger family. Nothing too fancy here. Just a basketball cake for our boy who loves to play basketball.
Cheesing it up with dad! I wanted Keith to hold the cake up a little but he had to hold Jaxson's hands down so he wouldn't put them into the cake. He was just a little excited to dig in!

Getting ready to blow out his candle. He could hardly contain himself he was so excited.

Finally he got to dig in! All day we kept telling him it was his birthday and he would reply 'it's happy day'. He even called the cake happy cake.

Getting ready to open presents. I love Gabe's smile!
Digging in! Jax loved opening his presents and the kids were great about helping him.

His grandma and grandpa Nebeker gave him a baseball glove. As soon as he opened it he was squealing 'a glove' and then jumped up to find his baseball. He knew just what to do with it! We had to take a time out from opening presents so he could hit the ball of the tee that he got from grandma & grandpa Shinney and then go pick up the ball with his new glove.

His present from us was a basketball hoop and ball. He was so excited and has played with it tons since. When he makes a shot he'll say 'Yes!' or 'awesome' and if he misses he'll say 'almost' it's so fun to watch him.
This was the best shot we could get of him with his presents. He didn't want to stop playing to look at the camera. Thanks everyone who sent gifts, money and cards, he loves everything! This little boy sure is loved! Happy Birthday Jaxson!

Jaxson's B-day Part 1; The Zoo

I decided that we should do something fun for Jaxson's birthday so I thought I would take him to probably his favorite place right now, the zoo! Keith had to go to school but we had a blast just the two of us! Even though it was a cold and windy day we bundled up and headed out. He has the cheesiest smiles sometimes.
Who's watching who?
One of Jax's favorite spots are the fake animals he can play on. He had fun pretending to feed, pet, ride and kiss this tortoise. There's a monkey statue as well that he always has to sit by and talk to. It's really cute listening to him babble to a monkey about all the animals he's seen.
We got to see the giraffes up close while they ate. Jax was so excited!

He kept finding leaves and sticks to throw into their area and would squeal 'aff eat, aff eat'. I love exploring this world with a two year old who thinks everything is so exciting!

Happy Birthday Jaxson!

Where does the time go?!! I can't believe my baby is turning the big 2 today! Now he's really not a baby anymore. Here's a look at how much he's changed. Jax when he was just about a week old.
1 year old.

And almost 2. What a cute boy we have! We have enjoyed him so much. I never would have expected how much love, laughter, stress, and pure joy such a little thing could bring into my life. Happy Birthday Jax! We love you!

I LOVE Weekends Like This!

Another test week is over! Which means, at least for the weekend, we had a husband and daddy to spend lots of time with. We enjoyed every minute! First thing Saturday I drug Keith and Jax to a Kids Resale. These are the best! It's kind of like a huge garage sale but just good kid stuff all in one high school gym. We found some fun stuff for our little ones, including a big dinosaur that Jax has hardly put down since. Here he is trying on some of his new clothes.
Then we hit up the West Side Market. I love this place! Can you find Keith and Jax in the crowd?
We got tons and tons of fresh fruit and veggies! We've already made peach and strawberry jam. Yummy!
And we maybe, just maybe got a few treats! The apple fritters were amazing! The rest of the day was spent listening to conference and getting our Halloween decor out. Jax loves walking through the house and seeing all the pumpkins. He runs up to us and says 'umpkin in house' it's so cute.

Today we relaxed, listened to another amazing conference and enjoy all the good food. As you can see Jax inhaled his pancakes with strawberries and whip cream. We had a to get a picture of the cliff hanger.

Jaxson is a huge Toy Story fan and is rarely seen without his Buzz. He got the little one for the trip to Lewiston, which was a life saver, and then got the big one this weekend. He was sooo happy. Now, both of them eat, sleep, bathe and play with Jax all day long.

This kid is so funny. We laugh at him all day. He put this laundry basket on his head and walked around the house saying 'turtle, turtle'. I loss count how many times he walked right into the wall, tables and other things.
And because a few people have been asking, here is the baby update. This is me at 24 weeks. Right now I'm feeling great. We won't talk about two months ago. I feel her moving all the time and Keith can also feel and see her moving. At every doctors appointment they have to chase her around to get her heart beat and always comment on how active she is. The last visit the doctor even saw her moving around in there. It's so amazing! We can't wait to meet this active girl!
